About Sid

Sid Tetz oversees critical operational, commercial, and supply chain strategies for CGC Inc., bringing nearly 20 years of experience in the Canadian building materials sector. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in marketing and supply chain management as well as an MBA in finance from the University of Alberta. Sid began his career in the industry inspired by a conviction that domestic manufacturing and customer proximity would become increasingly vital to Canada's growth. Before joining CGC in 2022, he spent 15 years at Owens Corning holding leadership positions across both sales and manufacturing—a dual background in production and commerce that enables him to lead with deep technical authority across every level of the business.

As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Sid built and led the teams responsible for customer relationships, national brand positioning, and market expansion. During his tenure in this role, he spearheaded the commercial launch of Sheetrock® Brand UltraLight PRO, a drywall panel designed to cut greenhouse gas emissions by up to 37% through lighter product weight and renewable energy usage. He also integrated comprehensive sustainability tools directly into CGC's product selector, making it seamless for specifiers, architects, and designers to meet LEED, WELL, and Living Building Challenge standards.

Following CGC's acquisition of Interior Building Products (IBP), Sid was appointed General Manager, expanding his mandate to include full operational and strategic oversight of five newly acquired facilities across Canada. In this role, he led the vertical integration of IBP into CGC's national network while the company was simultaneously executing two landmark capital investments—all without disrupting customer commitments or supply chains. By unifying gypsum, ceilings, and steel framing under one supply chain, Sid helped transform CGC’s go-to-market strategy from selling individual components to delivering complete, integrated wall and ceiling assembly solutions.

Beyond operational execution, Sid has established himself as a prominent voice in the Canadian building materials industry. He speaks regularly across trade and mainstream media regarding the critical role domestic manufacturing plays in addressing housing affordability, supply chain resilience, and construction schedules. He also led CGC's Architectural Tour program to foster direct dialogue with specifiers and champions workforce development by advocating for skilled trades as a rewarding career path. Known for an empathetic leadership style grounded in teamwork and accountability, Sid focuses on building strong cultures that earn Great Place to Work® recognition while reinforcing CGC's role as an essential partner to the nation's construction sector.
