About
Corey
Submitting over $1 billion in infrastructure proposals annually requires far more than just estimating capabilities; it demands a masterful understanding of risk, commercial strategy, and complex alternative delivery models. At Aecon, one of North America’s leading construction and infrastructure development companies, this immense responsibility falls to Corey Hall, the Director of Pre-Construction. His career is a powerful testament to the value of continuous growth and technical excellence. Having started his journey with Aecon as a co-op student in 2007, Corey has ascended through the ranks, mastering every facet of project management, field supervision, and project controls. Today, he leads a massive multidisciplinary pre-construction team that plays a critical role in shaping the future of Canadian infrastructure. His strategic foresight has been instrumental in diversifying Aecon’s Civil East portfolio, successfully expanding the company’s footprint into high-growth sectors such as transit, hydroelectric, and power infrastructure.
Corey’s expertise is particularly pronounced in navigating sophisticated alternative delivery models, including Construction Management at Risk (CMAR), Progressive Design-Build, Integrated Project Delivery, and Alliance contracts. His leadership was pivotal in securing landmark projects like the Hamilton LRT and the highly sensitive Arctic Over-the-Horizon Radar Program, showcasing his exceptional ability to align complex technical requirements with rigorous commercial frameworks. A licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario and a certified Project Management Professional, Corey holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Western University. This robust educational foundation supports his unparalleled ability to manage risks and negotiate complex contracts on projects valued from hundreds of millions to several billion dollars.
He is widely respected for his calm, decisive leadership and his talent for building consensus among diverse teams, including owners, designers, contractors, and joint-venture partners. His approach is deeply collaborative; he focuses on creating alignment and driving outcomes rather than simply managing processes. Beyond his immediate project responsibilities, Corey is a passionate advocate for the future of infrastructure delivery. He actively champions progressive procurement models that promote shared accountability and more effective risk management. Whether leading multi-billion-dollar pursuits or developing strategic partnerships, Corey consistently demonstrates sound judgment and a forward-looking perspective. His ability to bridge the gap between technical engineering and commercial strategy has not only positioned Aecon as a trusted partner on some of Canada’s most significant civil projects but has also solidified his reputation as an exceptional leader. Corey Hall’s remarkable career progression and his ongoing contributions to the modernization of Canadian infrastructure make him a highly deserving honoree, ensuring Aecon remains at the cutting edge of innovative project delivery.
