About
Joe
Joe Baz is a Senior Product Manager at Flynn Canada Ltd. whose career trajectory showcases a rare balance of technical brilliance, commercial execution, and genuine human leadership. Graduating Summa Cum Laude from McMaster University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Management, Joe is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario who seamlessly bridges the gap between complex engineering concepts and strategic business development. Over his ten-year career advancing from intern to senior executive, he has consistently demonstrated an ability to innovate, build, and elevate every product and project he touches.
At Flynn, Joe co-designed and patented the 4.75" and 7.75" ISO Clip systems, widely recognized across the market as exceptionally user-friendly and cost-competitive thermal solutions. By architecting robust commercial processes and developing practical tools like the ISO Clip Calculator, he enabled estimators and designers to specify the product with complete confidence, driving a 300% increase in sales in just three years. In addition to his work with ISO Clips, Joe played a central role in bringing Speedwall to market, an innovative modular wall assembly engineered to help architects hit stringent environmental targets without compromising aesthetic standards. His hands-on involvement spans every operational stage—from pitch and research to factory floor coordination and final site installation—on notable projects such as 525 Markham, 11 Brock Ave, and YK50.
Beyond his commercial and technical contributions, Joe is widely respected for his collaborative, supportive, and inclusive leadership style. Across technical, design, and operations departments, he leads without micromanaging, simplifying complex concepts and empowering those around him to elevate their own standards. A dedicated mentor, Joe actively invests in developing early-career colleagues, building technical expertise, work ethic, and industry confidence in those he guides.
Joe’s commitment to community and team culture extends well beyond the office. He serves as captain of Flynn's intra-industry soccer team and regularly volunteers at the annual Polar Bear Dip for charity, organizing logistics and ensuring participant safety. Known as both a creative problem solver and an unselfish teammate, Joe continuously elevates teams, products, and projects across the Canadian construction landscape.
